Jogja Halal Fest #3: From Yogyakarta for World Halal Economic Collaboration

Jogja Halal Fest #3 is a business, investment and innovation collaboration platform that connects Indonesia with the global halal economy.

Hari Haryadi, Chairman of the Permanent Committee for Investment KADIN DIY and Coordinator of Indonesia-Turkiye Alumni Yogyakarta

The development of the world halal economy has opened a new chapter in international trade and investment. Demand for halal products and services continues to increase, not only in Muslim-majority countries, but also in Europe, North America and East Asia. This condition makes the halal economy one of the prospective sectors for world economic growth in the next decade.

Indonesia has a very strategic position in this development. With a large Muslim population, wealth of natural resources, and a strong and dynamic MSME ecosystem, Indonesia has the opportunity to become one of the world's halal economic centers. However, this potential can only be realized through close collaboration between business actors, investors, government, academics and international partners.

It is in that context that Jogja Halal Fest (JHF) #3, which will be held on 4-6 December 2026 at Jogja Expo Center (JEC), Yogyakarta, becomes relevant and strategic. This festival is not just an exhibition of halal products, but rather an economic diplomacy platform that brings together business actors, investors, buyers, academics, governments and business communities from various countries in one productive collaborative space.

Yogyakarta has its own advantages to play this role. As a city of education, culture, tourism and entrepreneurship, Yogyakarta offers a combination of creativity, innovation and quality human resources. A conducive business environment and a growing collaborative spirit in society make Yogyakarta an ideal location for building a global halal economic network.

JHF#3 is expected to be the entry point for foreign business actors to establish partnerships with Indonesian business actors, especially in Yogyakarta. This collaboration can be realized in various forms, ranging from trade, investment, joint product development, technology transfer, increasing human resource capacity, to opening international market access.

For Indonesia, collaboration with global business actors is not only about increasing the value of trade transactions. Collaboration can accelerate product quality improvement, technology adoption, strengthen international standards, and increase the competitiveness of national MSMEs. On the other hand, for international business actors, Indonesia offers a large market, demographic bonus, economic resilience and long-term growth opportunities.

As joint organizers, KADIN DIY and the DIY Sharia Economic Community (MES) view the halal economy as an instrument for inclusive and sustainable development. The benefits of halal economic growth should not only be enjoyed by large companies, but should also be felt by MSMEs, farmers, fishermen, creative industry players, Islamic boarding schools, and the younger generation who are building businesses and innovating.

Therefore, JHF#3 does not only talk about halal products. The festival talks about the future of investment, trade, innovation and global partnerships. From Yogyakarta, we want to send a message to the world that Indonesia is ready to become a strategic partner in the development of the global halal economy.

We invite investors, buyers, chambers of commerce, business associations, sharia financial institutions, companies and MSMEs from various countries to attend, dialogue and build sustainable cooperation. Today's world needs more collaboration. JHF#3 is here to bridge this spirit.

Yogyakarta opened its doors to the world. Indonesia is ready to become a partner. The halal economy can become a common language for creating inclusive, sustainable and global prosperity.

Invest in Jogja. Partner with Indonesia. Grow with the Global Halal Economy.
