The Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta Sharia Economic Community and the DIY Chamber of Commerce and Industry inaugurated a synergy to support the implementation of Jogja Halal Fest 2026. This collaboration was marked by the signing of a memorandum of understanding and cooperation agreement on 30 June 2026.
Memorandum of understanding signed by Prof. Dr. Edy Suandi Hamid from MES DIY and GKR Mangkubumi from KADIN DIY. The cooperation agreement was then signed by Priyonggo Susesno and Heroe Poerwadi. The meeting also served as a space for forming the committee structure and the first meeting to prepare for the event.
The sharia economic network and the business world network are brought together so that the festival does not stop as an exhibition, but also opens up access to partnerships, markets and strengthening halal industry players.
MES DIY brings experience in sharia economic development, community networks, academics and policy makers. KADIN DIY expands access to industry players, business associations and regional business networks. This division of powers is expected to help organizers develop programs that are relevant for MSMEs and companies that want to enter the halal value chain.
Institutional collaboration provides an opportunity to strengthen participant curation and the quality of business meetings. MSMEs need different assistance from established companies, while buyers and investors need structured information regarding capacity, legality and product readiness.
A memorandum of understanding becomes important when a clear work plan is followed. The formation of the committee and the initial meeting on the same day showed that collaboration was directly directed at operational preparation, not just a declaration of support.
Joint programs can include participant mobilization, business forums, business matching, strengthening business actor data, and partnership follow-up. The involvement of the KADIN network also opens up opportunities to bring industry needs into the design of the festival agenda.
For MES DIY, this collaboration expands the bridge between the sharia economic movement and the business world. For KADIN DIY, JHF provides a space to recognize opportunities in the halal industry while connecting its members with communities, regulators and new markets.
The June 2026 collaboration is part of the Road to JHF #3 series. The results of the implementation will still be measured after the event takes place; At this stage, the signing is proof of institutional consolidation and preparation.
