MES DIY held a Syawalan and Strategic Collaboration Road to Jogja Halal Fest #3 at the Heritage Building of the Bank Indonesia DIY Representative Office. The meeting on April 8 2026 brought together 71 stakeholders from government, regulators, associations, academics, business actors and internal MES.
The forum presented, among others, Hermanto from BI DIY, Prof. Dr. Edy Suandi Hamid from MES DIY, Kurnia Febra from OJK DIY, Ika Efrilia from BPJPH Central Java–DIY, and Dr. Muhammad. Coach Wulan was introduced as Chair of the Organizing Committee and presented the initial road map for festival preparations.
71 stakeholders were present in the initial consolidation to unify the direction, needs and opportunities for cross-sector collaboration.
The scale of the halal industry means that one organization cannot work alone. Regulatory involvement is required for certainty of standards; academics assist with research and capacity development; associations and business actors bring market needs; while the government and financial institutions can strengthen facilitation and financing.
Cross-agency meetings also help organizers test program designs from the start. The needs of MSMEs are not always the same as those of large companies, while the interests of family visitors are different from those of buyers or investors. Consolidation provides space to structure relevant experience pathways for each group.
The presence of 71 new stakeholders is the first step. The real value will emerge when commitment is translated into a division of labor: who accompanies certification, opens access to financing, curates products, brings in potential buyers, sets up knowledge forums, and measures impact after the event.
The road map presented by the organizing committee functions as a common framework. With a clear schedule, targets and people in charge, festival preparations can move from big ideas to a series of work that can be monitored.
April consolidation is the initial stage. The next series was seen through the Halal Area program in June and the MES DIY–KADIN DIY cooperation at the end of the same month.
